My first finished robot I did was the “Offy Bot.” It’s task was to go around with out hitting any walls or objects, and thats all. It did it’s task very well.
Specs:
MCU = Roboduino
Sensor = IR Range Finder
Motors = HS-311 Servo’s
How it was built:
1) Modify the HS-311 Servo’s so they have continus rotation, I did it by soldering 2.2k ohm resistors to the wires. (Tutorial Here)
2) I than mounted the servos to the chassis using servo mounts for standard sized servos
3) Added the IR Range Finder to the chassis so I can than start the programming
4) I than used the Arduino program (Here) to program my robot
